My Students

My students are hardworking, energetic, and determined 5 and 6 year olds who love learning. They are always ready to tackle something new and work hard to master the task. They crave all things hands-on, and love to problem solve. Everyday, they come in smiling, friendly, and ready to see me and their classmates. Our school is a No Excuses University school. Every child who enters our place of learning knows that college is where they will head after high school!

My Project

Kindergarten students need lots and lots of practice with the alphabet and sight words to become readers. These games and activities will be perfect during our Daily 5 rounds. Anything they think is a game, and it helps them grow their phonological knowledge, is a major PLUS in any teacher’s book! I chose several self checking activities, so the children will get instant feedback on their work! Often times, 5 and 6 year olds need extra time to practice their fine motor skills as well. These Lakeshore learning games will be a perfect addition to our classroom. We are excited to get started!
