Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My special needs students are diverse, determined, and driven. My students are from Chicago and come from hard-working and loving parents. Our school is very family-oriented and has great family involvement. My students will be able to learn if their basic needs are met.
My students are eager and ready to learn.
Some have disabilities but are able to work close to their peers with the right resources. They attend a large Chicago public school and live in a high poverty neighborhood, which as you know has many challenges.
My Project
Do you remember the first time you were able to read? When my students come to my primary resource room they begin to learn letter names, letter sounds, blending which leads to reading!
I'm requesting super-engaging books that will help my students explore the alphabet—one letter at a time!
The Mystery Box includes 26 miniatures for every letter of the alphabet that help reinforce letter sounds. The Launch & Learn the alphabet is an action-packed game where they push, launch, match and build alphabet skills! My students will trace the tactile alphabet cards with their finger to build pre-writing skills! They will be able to use the listening center to listen to engaging books that promote reading.
