Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are dedicated scholars with a vast variety of backgrounds. Many students are recent immigrants to the United States, coming from places as diverse as Syria, El Salvador and Malawai (to name a few)!
Thanks to the great diversity of my scholars, our classroom represents a community that draws strength from its differences.
In such an environment, learning goes well beyond what a textbook can provide. Knowledge is not unidirectional but flows from teacher to student and vise versa.
My Project
The materials requested in this project will help ensure that my classroom be well organized. Organization is key to maximizing class instruction. By providing scholars with a consistent place to store their class materials in the milk crates and class organizers, we will spend less time locating resources and more time using them!
Similarly, having a designated file tray for students to turn in homework will minimize the number of missing assignments and ensure the class time remain centered on student learning.
Most importantly, my goal for this project is to create a well organized space for scholars that is easy to utilize, so that they may spend most of the time learning and growing.
