Welcome to the Ladybug Classroom... the spot for eighteen energetic, loving, and delightful Pre-Kinders plus two teachers who just love them bunches! Together we form a school family that works together to grow and develop through play-based learning and teaching - the way young children learn best.
Although it looks like we’re just playing, my little learners are engaging in structured activities to teach specific skills and knowledge.
Through participation in these positive play-based learning experiences, my children develop their ability to get along with others, learn cognitive and language strategies, and acquire the building blocks for a strong foundation for school success. Such a playful approach to learning builds on my children’s interests and responds to their ideas for play while making happier people who continue to love playing and learning.
My Project
Kids explore the world with their senses as they play and learn through hands-on and minds-on experiences. Activities that get them moving, interacting, and experiencing various concepts have a bigger impact on their brains capturing their attention. My project, ABC's and 123's, is centered around the alphabet and number learning in a fun and meaningful way. The Hands-On Counting Trays give the children tons of counting practice by just placing the math counters in the handy molded compartments to explore counting hands on…and easily keep the pieces in place as they work! The ABC Cookie Puzzles provide a sweet way for the children to learn the alphabet by using the spatula to place the letters in the impressions in the cookie sheet!
The key is to key into their curiosity through hands-on and minds-on educational activities that teach with the help of a smile and a laugh.
There's no need for flashcards because learning comes naturally through everyday exposure and play-based experiences.
