We are an at-risk preschool program in Greenville County, SC. The students in my classroom come from ethnically and racially diverse backgrounds. A few speak English as a second language, but many of my students receive free/reduced lunch.
As their 4K Teacher, it is my job to ensure that my students get the best experiences to develop their education and concepts of the world.
These students came to me just a week ago and have already shown me respect, love and compassion. They will truly appreciate anything you can do to help.
These materials will give these students a different way to learn their letters. After doing some beginning of the year assessments, I have realized that my students know less than 8 letters of the alphabet. These resources will help them in a hands on way. I have chosen the lock-n-key alphabet and alphabet bubbles. To use the lock-n-key alphabet the students will match the correct key with the corresponding alphabet lock. The alphabet bubbles are for our sensory table. They have the letter on one side and a picture with the same beginning sound on the other side.
I have also added some music shakers in as well because it is important to get our children as culturally aware as possible.
Music helps propel children's knowledge and learning and these music shakers will be fun to use as well!
