Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a new teacher, bright-eyed and looking out for my students’ futures! I teach 1st grade in Buckeye AZ, to a very diverse class in a very high needs area. They have a desire to learn and are particularly interested in STEM and other kinesthetic learning activities. I believed that my students are the world’s next great doctors, surgeons, engineers, and mathematicians and they deserve everything and anything that could possibly help them grow closer to those dreams and aspirations for their own future. Because why can’t the students that don’t have the same economic advantages reach their dreams!

My Project

My students are longing to read and many need small interventions to get them to their goals. Imagine these resources in the hands of children that would use them to reach their full potential and read their way through the rest of the school year! These resources would become daily featured in our room to help with retention and application of our basic phonics and reading skills to get us to our goal towards reading! My first-grade students would greatly appreciate the opportunity to use new and exciting materials to support their learning and understanding of the English language!
