Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a preschool special education teacher in a high poverty school district, my students face challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite these challenges, my students come to school happy to learn, participate and make friends.
My preschool special education students are young, with many never having entered a school environment before and are eager to learn!
They face different challenges and disabilities, whether the delay is in communication, social, motor, daily living or academic skills, or all of the above are what we work on every single day. They try their best and their progress is to be celebrated!
My Project
The materials I am requesting will create exciting and educational center activities. My students are preschoolers with special needs, many having limited language skills. Building vocabulary opportunities, along with exposure to alphabet foundations will be so beneficial to each and every single one of them. Having fun items like the abc bubbles to place in water tables will create a fun, sensory opportunity. Using tweezers to find letters and build letters from parts will help with fine motor skills along with providing a kinesthetic way of learning. I thank you in advance for the opportunities that your support will provide my kiddos.
