ABC End-of-Year Class Book

Help me give my students the opportunity to design a letter of the alphabet utilizing drawing pencils, markers, crayons, and Oil Pastels. Each class will create an "ABC" book for their classroom teacher as an "end-of-the-year" gift.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students enjoy using art materials to create beautiful artworks. We have been studying famous artists throughout the year, as well as the Elements of Art and Principles of Design. I have incorporated both literature and oil pastels in a more recent project as a means of expression for students to learn their ABC's.

This new project will involve each student in each of my Art classes being assigned a letter of the Alphabet to collectively create a beautiful end-of-the-year ABC book as a class gift for their Teacher.

The vibrant colors of Oil Pastels are stunning. Utilizing various art materials also increases fine motor skills, which is imperative for writing.

Students will draw their idea first, and make any changes to their idea. Then, students will draw their idea onto the sulphite paper and select art tools to complete their project. This project will reinforce my students' knowledge of their ABC's, literacy, drawing/writing and increase development of fine motor skills as well as demonstrate their knowledge of the elements and principles that they have been learning.
