My Project

I have been working with English Language Learners for over 25 years now. During this time, I have seen how realia can work wonders with Multilingual Learners. In my classroom I try to provide opportunities for students to acquire language through fun, engaging activities. Realia assists in lowering the affective filter and helps my students feel comfortable speaking a language that is foreign to them.

Kinesthetic learning mingles elements of both visual and auditory learning and compels full participation from each student.

Realia can make the learning experience memorable and help students create connections between objects and vocabulary words or other language concepts. “Hands-on” learning allows students to become comfortable using expressive language spontaneously in class. While working with these materials, students can request certain objects, make choices, ask questions, answer and describe events.
