Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our scholars are full of life and very eager to learn. We are a school that receives title 1 funding and serves low SES families. Regardless of the hardships these families may face, these scholars come in and give their all in every way.

As we have claimed our rightful place as pre-first graders; they are here everyday, trying things a different way even when it is difficult.

They know there is no opt out and I want to show them that through education we can do even more. I aspire to give them access to things in which they may not be able to attain otherwise.

My Project

As a kindergarten teacher, I seek to bring comfort and joy to everything we do.

I want scholars to feel empowered; with interactive, self checking task cards for math they will feel in control.

As well as with the sight word practice cards, scholars will be paired to work together with minimal teacher assistance. The biggest excitement, is adding the wireless headphones to our listening center. They wont have to worry about the tangled cords and maneuvering around them. The cushions will be added to the reading corner which is setup like a "day in the park." Tree of Knowledge!
