Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Bringing stories to life through the use of a color printer is a great tool to motivate students to get creative with their writing! Also, a media cart to hold the color printer and our computer will be helpful in keeping our room organized while providing easy access for my students.
I teach first grade to 20 hard-working students in an economically disenfranchised community.
We are a Title 1 high-poverty elementary school where all students receive free meals. At times my students are placed at a disadvantage when it comes to performing at grade level in standardized tests due to lack of language support at home. My goal is to lay a solid foundation by giving my students all support possible so that they may acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the rest of their educational careers. Through the use of a color printer, children can create and print colorful stationery, artwork, and other computer creations. A media cart to house the color printer and our computer will provide easy access for my students.
My Project
I am asking for a color printer and a media cart to hold the printer and our computer. Writing is fun and every student should have the opportunity to express themselves through creative written work. It is my experience that children become motivated to write more when they have access to colorful pictures and stationery for their final published works.

This printer will not only impact my current class, but many future students as well. The media cart will allow us to organize all our technology in one place with easy access for all students.
