Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are enthusiastic and passionate about learning. We love project based learning and design thinking. We are also very collaborative and enjoy working together. This year we are focusing on choosing kindness when we interact with each other and on having growth mindsets when we encounter obstacles in our learning.
Our school and classroom represent a diverse community of learners.
We have fourteen percent of our school on free or reduced price lunch, and twenty-two percent of our school has limited English. We have many different languages and cultures represented on our campus which allows us to grow and learn from one another.
My Project
Our site has access to a printer that is utilized by six different classrooms. At times the massive amount of printing that happens on a daily basis causes ink and paper to run out quickly. This specific printer only prints in black ink. As a teacher, I don't have access to a personal scanner to be able to scan images to my computer and upload them digitally.
Help our classroom get access to a working scanner and color printer to help make learning and demonstrating our learning even better!
Our upcoming project of publishing written biographies about famous people from the Revolutionary War will especially benefit from a functioning color printer!
The printer would be designated specifically to my classroom environment which would allow both students and teacher to have access at all times!
