Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are curious, out-of-the-box thinkers and eager seekers of knowledge. As a school, we recently have become a magnet project-based school. We started launching project-based learning curriculum projects, which the school community has embraced. As a class, I would like to incorporate technology and more up to date library resources.
What stands out the most in my classroom is their eagerness to learn new topics through reading and research.
As a teacher for 20 years, I am excited to be part of their learning and exploratory process. I can't wait to see what else they teach me!
My Project
The students are learning, exploring, and researching about current world achievers who have made an impact on society. They are learning about Malala Yousafzai, Sonia Sotomayor, as well as young leaders who are making changes that impact our lives. This STEM project bundle will give my students the opportunity to explore their innovative side, while the books of current global leaders will show the students that anything can be achieved with goals, plans, and determination. The choices I made are to give the students different organic ways to learn and grow as global citizens. They are the future leaders!
