My students come from a low income area and the home situation is not always the best for a segment of our student population. But, that doesn't stop them. They impress me every day.
The students that I work with are students that thrive on working with their hands.
The traditional classroom just does not always work for some of them. Just sitting still is sometimes difficult. These students may not be able to show their knowledge on a written test but allow them to create something that interests them and they will blow your mind with the outcome.
My Project
The equipment we are asking for in this project will greatly help our team prepare for their competitions.
With the right equipment conditioning and strength can improve a teams competitiveness.
TheraBand Resistance Tubes, will be used to help kids learn to take penetration shots and improve position. We cut them into 10 foot sections and it gives the athlete about 4 feet so if they move around before their shot they don't run into the person aiding them. We knee slide to improve position and use this with other parts of our equipment.
LEEKEY Resistance Band Set will be used to work on angle or pressure pulls first movement power. We do squats, push ups, rows and so many exercises with these.
We will use the Adjustable Weighted Vest on a wrestler who is doing band work and wants more of a feel of the opponent trying to put pressure on. Tons of uses.
The POWER GUIDANCE Battle Rope will be used to build grip strength and arm endurance, great to add in for sport specific movement.
