A Whole New World!

My students need the Scholastic News magazine to help them understand that there is a vast World around them that extends beyond their neighborhood.

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The first grade students in my classroom have a very limited knowledge of current events, but are very interested in learning more about the World around them and where they fit into the vast new and ever changing World around them.

My students have very limited parental support and come from families with very limited financial resources.

It would be difficult to receive funds from parents to invest in a subscription to this educational resource.

Scholastic New Magazine would be just the resource that could help to fill that void in their learning.

My Project

Scholastic News Magazine would help my students become familiar with the World around them and current events that will affect their daily lives. By receiving the subscription to Scholastic News they will have the opportunity to follow upcoming events and it is my desire for my students to have a better understanding of the World outside of their block and outside of their small neighborhood communities.

It is very important for students to understand that there is life outside of their own small neighborhood.

Scholastic News Magazine will help my students to develop a desire to explore the World around them.
