My Students

Our little town is so fortunate to have this amazing Title 1 school! We have awesome little people who are anxious to learn about the world around them.

I am blessed to teach 1st grade and be able to watch these little learners become readers and independent thinkers.

Although learning to read is a challenging endeavor, I encourage my students every day by reinforcing the fact that they can do it!

Over the past year-and-a-half we have been impacted, as have all schools around the nation, by the COVID 19 pandemic. Even with all the upheaval, this situation has brought, we have seen few people who are resilient. They want to learn and are happy that we are able to be back to in-person learning full-time.

Even though they don't know it now, learning will be a gift they treasure for the rest of their lives.

My Project

Over the past, almost two years, young students have had quite a roller coaster ride with respect to education and learning. From being in school to out of school and then back into school again, their little lives have been nothing less than crazy. A classroom full of brand new books will help them see a whole new world that has been missing in their lives for the last little while. Put a new book in the hands of a child and the world becomes alive and real in their lives.
