Help me give my students some whiteboard space to demonstrate their French knowledge.

My students are in an urban public school that serves over two thousand ninth to twelfth graders. All of them live in the urban area and they come from low-income and middle-class families. Most of these students come from the poorest neighborhoods of the city. These students lack opportunity to display their knowledge of French while making presentations to their classmates because our classroom is not equipped with an appropriate whiteboard. Since I have them as the beneficiaries of my career and since I believe in their ability to succeed, I want to help them have an engaging classroom that increases their motivation to learn.
Despite the socioeconomic challenges they face in their under-resourced community, my students are awesome!
They are hard workers, very creative, and curious about the world. They love the French language. Like most young adults, my students are visual and auditory learners and they only need to be given the slightest opportunity for them to demonstrate their ability to shine.
Research shows that students learn better when their classrooms are engaging and exciting. In my classroom, that excitement comes when my students take turn to challenge each other by writing on an old and faded board poems, quotes, and expressions, all in French and solicit their fellow classmates’ feedback. This active, fun, and interpersonal communication in my classroom is seriously impaired by the fact that we currently don’t have a reliable board that would allow my students to take control over their own learning.
I want to create and active learning environment to help my students stay motivated, believe in themselves, and reach their learning goals.
Having a PORCELAIN STEEL DRY ERASE BOARD in my classroom will empower my students to explore new ideas and concepts in French language, share their research findings with their fellow classmates, all while presenting something they’re excited to do and are proud of. We will use this whiteboard to help students visualize class presentations and to foster student engagement.
