I am going to be a first grade teacher in the wonderful city of Grand Forks in North Dakota. This is my first year teaching and I am extreemly excited to meet my kiddos in just a few short weeks.
I want my students to feel welcome, safe, and comfortable in our classroom because they deserve it!
This school is highly diverse with a large amount of students receiving free or reduced lunch.
After student teaching in first grade for 16 weeks and long term substitute teaching in a first grade classroom, I have learned that first graders are eager to learn, energetic, curious, creative, and hilarious.
I am so excited to make memories and watch my students learn and grow with me.

These materials I am asking for are going to be a huge benefit to my students. Students will use the classroom rug where whole group learning daily, wobble chairs, and wiggle seats.
The rug has specific seating for first graders is essential for classroom management.
The flexible seating options will be helpful to meet the sensory needs of all students.
First graders are energetic and active learners and these items will encourage many opportunities for learning and growing.
From my experience in the classroom, I have seen great success with these items whether it be with teacher-student management, building classroom community or student achievement. I know positive things will come from these items in the classroom.
