Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are energetic and persevering young mathematicians. They attend a Title I school, meaning 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students face a lot of hardships and can struggle to be present and motivated in the classroom. I excite my students by making my teaching personal. I give them tangible incentives and create meaningful relationships with them.
I have seen significant growth from my students and encourage them to become young mathematical trailblazers that will impact our future.

My Project
As teachers, we are always trying to do the best by our students with whatever materials we have present. Our school was founded in 1865, and it is over 150 years old. Our building has had some renovations along the way, but there is still a lot of old infrastructure in place. I am asking for fans, tissues, pencils, and storage boxes to help my students be welcomed into a classroom that is organized, comfortable, and has materials for students to be successful. It is my hope that I can create an environment where students are excited to learn. Students will benefit from these items because they will not be hot and be able to be more focused. They will also have designated areas for their notebooks and materials ready at their disposal.
