My Students

In my class, I work with students in grades 9-12 who make me smile every day. As part of one of the largest Hawaiian communities in the world, my students' uniqueness, individuality, and pursuit of becoming lifelong learners remind me daily why I chose to become a teacher.

Students in my class are amazing at transforming their thoughts into reality.

Together, we strive to build real-world skills and create life-long relationships within our community and beyond.

My Project

Imagine the native landscape of Hawaii as your classroom. Now imagine being able to journey 4,010 feet above sea level to the summit of Mt. Kaala. That is what gaining access to these resources will help to do for my students. Necessities like a first aid kit, snacks, and a camera can help to make a trip into the Waianae mountains more than a possibility. It will make it a memorable possibility.

With these resources, my students will be able to document their health and wellness journey as they explore Mount Kaala Bog.
