My students need a voice. Once each student has their own tablet with a communication application installed they will be able to better communicate with their teachers and peers.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My lovely group of students are a very diverse bunch. Some are just beginning to start their career as little learners and some have been in school for one or two years already.
That is just the beginning of their differences.
Some may be wondering why my class size is so small. To answer that question, my students are in district 75, which is a specialized school district that tailors especially to special needs students. One key attribute is small class sizes. The maximum number of students in any district 75 class is twelve. This ensures that all of these kiddies get the individualized attention and instruction that they need to succeed.
Eventually, these little learners may move from a class of six, to a class of eight or a class of twelve! The best way for this to happen is for them to be able to take advantage of all that me and their support team has to offer.
My Project
This year I am working with many minimally verbal and non-verbal students.
My goal is to give every student a voice!
With the use of tablets with communication devices installed this can be possible. Not only will my students be able to participate in classroom discussions, but they will also be able to communicate their wants and needs with the use of these devices.
We live in a technology era, and children know how to work tablets better than anything, so why not incorporate what they know when teaching them what they need to learn?
My goal with these tablets is also to use digital manipulates during math activities. I want my students to be excited to come to school, and expose them to a new way of learning!
