Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach all fifth grade students at our school, located in the East Baton Rouge area! My students are focusing their time in school on preparing for life after high school at an early age, which will look different for every student. We work with each student individually to help them communicate what their personal goals and visions for their futures are.

My Project

Traditional classrooms have changed due to the worldwide pandemic. To keep our scholars safe, there is a need for digital learning. Most teachers around the world have transitioned to virtual classrooms. As a math teacher, the materials I have requested will help make my transition easier.

When my scholars and I connect on Zoom or Google Meets, a graphics tablet, easel pad, and markers will help with the visuals and solving of the math problems.

Together, we are having an amazing learning experience. Not knowing how long this distance learning will have to take place, I want to give my scholars the best digital learning experience I can give them.
