My students need some inspiring tapestry landscapes, such as space-theme and greens and woodland scenes, to hang in our classroom which doesn't have windows.
My students live in Northern Maine and are in Middle School. Which means that they are the perfect age to be inspired to LOVE Science! They enjoy doing hands-on experiments and learning about the world around them.
They enter my classroom each day, ready to learn something new or to learn more about the science subjects that they already love.
They ask the best questions! They ask things that I would never think to wonder about. Their questions inspire me and their classmates to dig deeper and learn more.
My Project
I believe that my job as a Science teacher is to inspire curiosity in my students and a love of learning. My students and I were recently moved into a small classroom without windows.
I selected tapestries that I thought would bring color and vitality to my classroom.
The greens and woodland scenes are reminiscent of what my students experience in the summer in our beautiful rural area.
I also have the privilege of teaching my students about space and I know that the space-themed tapestries will get them excited to learn as soon as they walk into the classroom! I will be able to use the constellation tapestry to point out constellations that we are learning about and to show in a fun and engaging way, how astronomers use constellations to organize the night sky.
