Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Students in my class are exceptional and unique special learners. Each and every student has the ability to learn at their individual level in a forward motion of independence in all areas of life. Students are able to experience the elementary education in an environment with continued enrollment with their like peers as any other child.
We strive to meet the sensory, physical, social, emotional demands of students to help ensure they have the best ability to tackle their personal educational goals.
All of this has been greatly affected by the Distance Learning model.
My Project
We have an amazing special day class with very supportive families. The families and I need help with purchasing supplies for use in their homes. We are making ends meet on limited funds and supplies previously left in the classroom.
The opportunity to create learning boxes with supplies would make a fantastic addition to support the students' full circle learning.
Many times hands-on activities like painting, coloring, and pencil work are challenging to support the students when they do not have enough supplies in their homes to support mental health.
