I will be teaching 21 second graders, I am replacing a retired teacher. I haven’t met my students face to face yet because we are teaching virtually til the new year. Thankfully our students receive delivered meals and a food box twice a month. They just finished their Santa letters. How do I make Christmas special for my students?
"Tell me and I forget, teach me and I remember, involve me and I learn." —Benjamin Franklin I want to be more involved in my students’ lives so while I teach, I also make their lives a little happier.
This will be my first year at this beloved mountain school. My students are happy to remain a family and ready to learn.
My Project
I want to make my students’ Christmas a little more special. We are really going through some difficult times right now. People are out of work, and they struggle putting food on the table.
Children learn better with food in their tummy, and encouragement from those around them.
I want to show them that they are very special.
When they break for Christmas, they will receive a bag full of healthy snacks. Second graders love to share, so little brother and sisters receive snacks too. With your help, Christmas will be a little more special to them.
