My students need a variety of books in our classroom library so they can continue to grow and excel in reading!
"Reading furnishes the mind only with materials of knowledge; it is thinking that makes what we read ours."
I teach 60 some fifth grade students every day!
My students being so much diversity into the classroom. These students are independent, self-starters ready for whatever their teachers throw at them. While they are nervous for what the new school year brings, they are excited to become better readers.
These materials will allow my students to have a variety of books to choose from in the classroom. The classroom library will be used for some in class reading, and the students will also be able to check out books to take home. These students will be able to get into the habit of reading on a daily basis for entertainment purposes. The student will be able to grow as readers as the year progresses!
Audiobooks will be used for lower-level readers, so that they can still participate in the activities that follow the books and be part of the class rather than being singled out with a different book!
Some of my students do not have access to books at home.
While the library is available to check out books, I want my classroom to be filled with books of all kinds, and this will make that a reality!
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
