Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students in my class are excited to come to school to learn everyday. They are curious about science and eager to learn how to read. They are kind to others and respectful of our classroom materials. They take great care of new classroom materials. Our school is 92% economically disadvantaged and 79% English Language Learners. My class is very diverse, including students from around the world, students receiving special education, gifted and talented students, and those learning English as a second language. My sweet students will benefit greatly by being able to continue our hands-on, messy learning. Thank you in advance for helping me provide my students with a clean and healthy classroom!
My Project
As my students are developing fine-motor skills, we use many messy learning materials, such as colorful salt, rice, sand, playdough--the list goes on. These materials help students stay engaged while they practice reading and writing their letters, words, and numbers. These various materials engage multiple senses to ensure their learning is long-term and memorable.
While our custodians vacuum daily, there are many instances where we need a vacuum during the school day to clean up after ourselves.
I would also like to be able to vacuum all our class rugs more often for safety and sanitary purposes. My students deserve the best learning environment, and a vacuum cleaner will help me provide that for them.
Thank you so much for helping me provide the necessities for our classroom.
