My amazing students range from 7 - 11 years old. They are singers, actors, musicians, rappers, poets, authors, scientist and most of all inspiring. Many of them come to school an hour early to participate in the band program. At our school, we pride ourself on having an amazing music program. Our music teacher Ms. Salguero was named the GRAMMY Music Educator Award Recipient in 2018!
My school is located in the poorest congressional district in the entire United States.
The projects that you help fund will help my students overcome the struggles they face. Your donation will help bring much-needed resources and supplies to the students at my school.
My students work hard and they love coming to music class.
The staff takes pride in what we do. We work together as a family of educators to create the best learning environment for our students. We take care of our belongings because we are very fortunate to have what we have.
This project will help my students be able to learn how to tune our ukuleles. The roadie tuner will automatically turn the pegs and tune the instruments in a blink of an eye. I plan on teaching the students to tune by ear then checking it with the tuners.
The slap bracelets are going to be a game changer for my special education classes.
Many of my special education students have a difficult time remembering the proper hand position for playing the recorder and the bracelets will give them a fun kinesthetic reminder to keep their left hand on top.
Last but not least, my band students need music books! This is a must for us. The method books will help us learn how to read music.
