Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I work at a great title one school in Northern California. I work with 20 third grade students, many living under the poverty line.

I am a teacher who is dedicated to the arts. I am currently taking a class for teachers at the De Young Museum. This class prepares me to use the museum as an extension of my classroom. However I cannot raise the money needed to get the children TO the museum without your help.

I need a four hour bus to transport my children to this world class museum. We will be learning about artists though out the year to prepare students for this life altering trip. To see "real art" is very empowering to them. How thick paint may be applied, or how many different cultures create art, cannot be conveyed through prints.

This trip will not happen without your support. There is no money to take the children to the museum. Even thought these children live less than on hour away, many will never visit this museum without your help.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
