"The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination." Albert Einstein. I would love to give my students the opportunity to foster their imagination in a fun and hands on way. The students in my class have huge hearts and the desire to learn.
I am a 6th grade teacher to 60 eager and hard working students.
The poverty level is high in the neighborhood where I teach and a large percentage of the children qualify for free lunch. In addition, the district where I teach is facing a major budget crisis. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.
My Project
The materials that I am requesting for my students will help them learn the location, physical features, valuable resources, and cultures of each of the seven continents. This series of books introduces the essentials of geography and will expose students to the unique characteristics of each of the seven continents.
These very engaging materials will be a great resource that can be used to supplement our dated and very worn out Social Studies books.
Planet Earth is awesome, diverse, inspiring, and ever changing. Studying geography will these engaging materials with invite students to participate more fully in the excitement and challenge of this dynamic world. I feel these books will help students better understand the places we live in, why they matter, and how they are all connected!
