This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My classroom is full of 18 incredible 4 year olds.

They are a very inquisitive diverse group of children who come to school everyday ready to learn and explore.

They love to paint and color as well as create structures with manipulates. The children in my class love using technology. The computer area is one of our most popular centers giving them a chance to play educational games as well as watch videos pertaining to our topic of study; Such as watching the first moon landing from our space theme.

My Co-Teacher and I encourage them to share with one another and to calmly discuss differences or conflicts on our "friendship bench" and to help each other because we are a classroom family.

My Project

I am asking for a laptop for my Pre-K Learning Environment. In a classroom full of 18 energetic, curious 4 and 5 year olds this laptop will allow me to enhance their leaning by allowing them to watch videos related to our current theme of study, connect to the printer and print lessons and take home practice sheets as needed, allow them computer time to log onto education websites and practice numbers, letters, colors and shapes through interactive games. It will also allow me to document their progress through Teaching Strategies Gold, create weekly newsletters and lesson plans.

When these children are given the materials and tools that are fun, interesting, appropriate and relevant it creates the optimal environment for learning
