This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our small school is located in Northeast, DC. Our students come from a range of socioeconomic backgrounds. Our scholars enjoy learning but face many challenges in their day-to-day life outside of school. Students love the changes we've made in our library program and are interested in additional activities.

Many of our students are impacted by adverse childhood experiences.

However, that doesn't stop them from participating and enjoying all aspects of school life. Houston has a loving staff that goes out of its way to assist in meeting the needs of students and families who are struggling.

Our students are bright, loving, and engaged. They are eager to learn and love the learning process.

My Project

Our students are so creative. I'd like to assist them with improving their public speaking, critical thinking when doing presentations and projects.

A traveling studio set-up will allow our scholars to really shine and boost their self-confidence.

I want my students to be able to produce short videos and presentations while allowing them to creatively express themselves through the use of a chroma key backdrop and ring light.

The students are already creative, so adding these tools will really assist them in reaching the next level in their content creation.
