A Tower of Books-Reading to the Top

My students need books to build our classroom library. The wireless mice will help with keeping our computer table organized.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are from an inner city school in CT. The students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. They come to school eager to learn; however, they lack family support. Our school is a public school that lacks funding for anything extra. Our district has let go many teachers and class sizes keep getting larger.

My goal is to help these students build their educational foundation.

In doing this, I need to have the things that will enable me to do so.

My Project

Each year a new groups of students come to class with a wide range of interests and reading levels. Being able to supply them with a library filled with different books like Who Was Albert Einstein? or the Captain Underpants: 10 Book Set is imperative.

Frederick Douglass said, "Once you learn to read, you will be forever free.

I want my students to know this and realize that it is the truth. You can go anywhere in a book.".

Most of the students I have do not have books at home. Nor do parents take time to utilize the library. The books I share with them are so important. It is my goal to make life long readers.

Being technology literate is important in this day and age. Our students use classroom computers daily. Unfortuanately, there are so many cords on our computer tables. They are constantly getting tangled and the students waste learning time untangling each day. Having cordless mice would be wonderful and cut down on the constant tangles.

Thank you for considering our project.
