Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are special learners with spunk! Help them be prepared for positive learning experiences with the access to technology that will propel their future to the next level. At Bruce-Monroe @ Park View ES, our students learn in both English and Spanish immersive classrooms. I believe they should have the opportunity to utilize all available resources so that they can be successful in bilingual core instruction.
My students will use iPads for personalized learning experiences and test preparation.
Game based learning has been scientifically proven as an effective teaching method for independent learning.
My Project
Here at Bruce-Monroe @ Park View ES, our Chargers are ready to dive into independent learning! Game based learning has been scientifically proven to increase a student's stamina, resiliency, and problem-solving skills in the moment.
My students will use these iPods for personalized learning experiences on the go!
With access to online game based learning systems like LexiaCore5 and Zearn which often only work with Apple or Windows OS products, iPod give students access with convenience. In addition, in my role as a teacher, I would be able to monitor my students' work digitally so that any weak areas could be re-taught and strengthened prior to standards assessments.
Equally important, with online access students will be able to use the practice materials from various locations, for example, home, the library, and in school. Through frequent and on-going practice, students will be able to acquire the skills necessary for the curriculum and effectively close gaps in their learning at their own pace. Bruce-Monroe @ Park View Chargers will be students better equipped for assessment and overall success.
