A Toolbox for Virtual Success

My Students

I teach in a culturally diverse 9-12 grade high school in a rural location. Over 70% of our students receive free and reduced-price lunches. We try to do the best with what we have but our funding is limited and there is no money allotted for any extras.

I currently am teaching high school math in a blended environment.

My classes contain both in person and virtual students for each class period. With current conditions, a student can pivot from in-person to virtual learning at any time.

My Project

Our classroom is constantly pivoting from in-person to virtual learning with the uncertainty of Covid-19. Many of our lessons require tools such as compasses and protractors to fully understand the concepts. While virtual tools can be used, most students respond better to physical tools.

As students transition back and forth from an in-person learning environment to a virtual learning environment, they need to be assured that they will have the tools they need to succeed in math.

Access to Geometry toolkits is a vital part of success in our classroom, whether that class is in our building or at home.
