As a teacher in a growing school district, my students are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite being faced with these challenges, these students are resilient and motivated to doing their best work. I am looking forward to keeping things entertaining and educational while providing my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My students are clever, open-minded, and excited about learning.
These kids like to move and love lots of positive attention. Many of them struggle with conventional learning strategies, so they need classroom manipulatives and a differentiated environment. I may not be able to control what their world looks like, but I can control their experience during the school day. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I hope to inspire learners to continue on a path of academic excellence.
My Project
Our students will be testing for over 10 hours in Language Arts during the last week of the month. These state tests will be spread out over four days.
As an incentive to motivate them to do their very best, we would like to reward individual student improvement with a virtual trip to the movies --- popcorn and candy.
Our students have worked so hard this year and have made incredible progress in reading and writing. This reward will encourage them to give their very best effort as well as recognize their achievement. We hope this will build confidence and lead to continued academic success.
