My students need a library of 20 books about Native Americans in Texas to study during our Native American Research unit and throughout the year.
Help us understand valuable Texas history! We need resources, and they are not easy to come by.
My students are some of the most hardworking, interested children you'll ever meet.
They pleasantly surprise me every day with the deep questions and interests they have. I work hard to fulfill their educational needs and desires, but I need help, especially when it comes to meeting the needs of a class with extremely diverse readers and backgrounds.
We would greatly benefit from having a library of Native American books. My students need a library of 20 books about Native Americans in Texas to study during our Native American Research unit and throughout the year. I'd like to use the nonfiction books for students to do research on Native Texas tribes and cultures. I'd like to use the fiction books as part of a genre study of realistic fiction and as mentor texts for writing personal narratives. We would also use some of these texts for a genre study on myths and legends. You can see that this library would help immerse these bright minds throughout our entire year!
I have watched how these children relish any new opportunities to learn, and I know that having an abundance of these Native American books will only inspire them more.
I'd love to send pictures of the amazing projects that will come from this seed of learning!
