Mrs. Arcillo from Baltimore MD is requesting professional development through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
I need a touch screen laptop that I could use facilitating Professional Development, conferences, and taking notes while observing instructions.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My classroom is very special this school-year 2019-2020 because I am holding conferences, professional learning, and data cycle with teachers and leaders. I am also sharing the data with students for them to be aware of their performance and if they meet the expectations quarterly.
Math teachers of Vanguard Collegiate Middle School are composed of 1 veteran Math teacher, 1 veteran Special Educator in Math, 2 teachers who are new to Middle School teaching Math, and 1 Urban Teacher.
Our student population consists of about a third English Language Learners. Our school is very diverse from students to teachers. This project will be of great help for me to facilitate professional learning and conferences both teachers and students. Topics will include but not limited to data analysis, math interventions, strategies, and pedagogies.
As a professional developer, my greatest role at our school is to ensure that teachers are equipped with pedagogies of their specific content areas. As a Math Coach, it is my responsibility to provide professional learning, monitor implementation in the classroom, and provide feedback to teachers and leaders.
Having the appropriate materials and resources, I will enrich my leadership and content (math) knowledge and skills and model to teachers that the use of technology in class does not only motivate students to learn, but to prepare them for their career.
With the use of technology during my presentation, teachers will get to interact and see the resources they can use in their classrooms. Most of the teachers are hesitant to use technology of having no background and knowledge of the available resources.
