Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In our classroom, my students and I take the road less traveled. In their community, only 10% of low income students graduate from college. However, in our class, all of us will learn and go to and through college!
We work hard every day to make sure that we are working hard and being nice.
This means we prioritize both our academics and our character to build a better tomorrow. My students' zip code should not determine their ability to succeed in this world, and, hopefully, you can help make this a reality. We thank you in advance for taking the road less traveled.
"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I - I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference." - Robert Frost
My Project
My students will soon be preparing for high school and beyond by diving into two great works of literature: To Kill a Mockingbird and A Midsummer Night's Dream. The richness of these two works of art will require supplements to aid students with vocabulary, plot, figurative language, symbolism, and much more.
Our class will be forever grateful for workbooks that will help us to better read and analyze canonical literature.
Students will use the activities in the workbooks to practice skills in class that help them be successful on state testing as well as AP courses in high school. These materials will allow me to create homework assignments, small group instruction handouts, and projects to go along with the texts.
