Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
A tablet will add one more layer to our ever growing technological classroom! How lucky my students and I are!
My students are special education students in grades 4 and 5.
They have specific learning disabilities so they need fun, creative, hands-on ways to access the curriculum. They live in a low income area, so many of them do not have computers or the Internet at home. I would like to provide them with as much exposure to the latest technology in my classroom to help prepare them for their future.
My Project
This tablet will introduce my students to the exciting world of educational apps. In addition, it will allow them to search the Internet for research projects and use the district's online websites for each subject area. The tablet will be added to my small group learning rotations. We are lucky enough to have been introduced to a Smart Board this year, which my students absolutely love and so I know having another device in the classroom will peak their interest and motivate them to try their hardest.
My students need alternative ways to learn and this tablet and docking station will no doubt provide them that diversity.
I will be able search for apps which are specified to each student's needs and goals. Thank you for your support of my special education students.
