My Students

As a technology teacher in an urban low-income/high-poverty community, my students face many challenges in and out of the classroom. I teach a very diverse population where providing equity to curriculum and material is very important. My students come from a variety of social and economic backgrounds. Many students don't have access to resources that are needed to prepare them for a 21st century world that is dominated by technology.

I would love to be able to give my students the opportunity to experience technology in ways that can help them advance academically.

My Project

I recently received a Dash Dot robot to support teaching Computer Science to my students. Unfortunately, we do not have the kind of device required to code the robot. Our school only has window devices and they are not compatible with the Dash Dot robot.

Your support will enable my students to use the Kindle Fire to access the required software to code the Dash Dot robot.

Students will learn to code the Dash Dot robot to perform specific functions.

Students love hands on, and I can't wait to see how excited they are when they see the Kindle to program/code the Dash! I know this will provide memorable learning activities for the students.
