This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are second graders who attend a public school in a high poverty area. They come to school with high hopes of learning new and interesting things .

This is my first year teaching second grade.

I am in a new room that lacks a lot of basic supplies. One thing my students need is a guided reading table. Can you image trying to sit six students and a Teacher around a table made for four. It is a task that never gets done. Help us!

My Project

This table will enhance the learning experience of the student by giving the a clear view of the materials being used in the lesson. It will enable them to have an opportunity to have a closer contact with the Teacher because of the smaller setting.

This table will be used during guided reading where students are grouped according to their reading level.

It provides them with a time the Teacher is teaching only on their level with instructions to improve their learning.

This table is needed for as of now we have a table where only a few students can sit around and the others try to squeeze in, not a good learning environment.
