This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My kinders are very curious and energetic. They are very helpful, enthusiastic and always ready to learn. I enjoy kindergarten because it's a year filled with hope, laughter and significant growth in content areas such as reading and math.
Despite our optimism, my kinders face many challenges within their community such as poverty and crime.
Nevertheless, we are determined to succeed by working hard and being great citizens. My hope is that they will remain lifelong learners and problem solvers!
My Project
Kindergarten is a year of wonder, challenges and immense growth. This is the year when readers and great thinkers begin to emerge. The Super Kinders are diverse learners with a variety of interests and skill levels. Therefore , they need a range of high quality materials to support their learning.
The listening center and laptops will enhance the learning environment by motivating the Super Kinders to work independently.
These resources promote a student-centered classroom where children can explore learning through a multi-sensory approach.
The Super Kinders will be encouraged to read along with the texts while listening to the CDs during our literacy centers. This will provide them with the opportunity to dig deeper while developing foundational literacy skills such as decoding, encoding and comprehension. Additionally, the mini laptops will help students to complete their weekly Lexia reading goals. These resources are essential in increasing the academic and social development of my curious and reslient students!
