My Students

I get to teach a variety of student Geometry and IB math courses at MRHS. The students love quick feedback, are curious and ready to learn. Most students are students of color and over half qualify for free and reduced lunch.

My Project

Currently in class we are using Zoom to do distance learning and it seems it will be like that for the rest of the year. In class I often have students text me their work and then I share screen and I annotate on their work. Currently I do this with my mouse and it can be relatively hard to read. With a tablet and stylus I will be able to annotate onto their work live in class quite easily.

I also want to use the tablet and stylus to be able to grade students work that they turn into me so that it can be returned to them instantly with my annotations/corrections on it.

Allowing students to get feedback on their work more quickly then if I did not have this piece of technology.

I also make videos daily for students as part of my flipped classroom approach and currently use a document camera which works, but can be not super clear and sometimes refocuses during the video, having the tablet and stylus do this will allow for a clearer picture for students.

Our district has not been able to afford to buy this sort of technology for our staff and students yet, so I really appreciate anything that people can donate to bring me closer to using this tech in the classroom.
