Have you ever met or talked to a middle school student? They are an incredible bundle of energy, questions, and motion! I teach amazing middle grades students in a large metropolitan area. The students I teach are creative and smart but don't have the advantages a lot of students have due to their socioeconomic status and changing communities.
My kids love to learn when they have engaging, hands-on activities to stimulate their interest.
My school is starting school-wide STEAM program and we need materials that are engaging and motivating to grab every child!
My Project
My class teaches junior high kids what opportunities are available to them in high school and in careers. They are going to love using the Stomp Rockets to learn more about rocket propulsion and engineering. Students will compare the strength of the stomp to the height of the rocket's flight and use engineering techniques to explain what happens. The toolsets are to help the students create small projects as part of our construction unit. Students don't have a lot of access to tools any more, so the hands-on activities we do help students identify where their strengths are so they can choose high school courses and careers that match their strengths.
