My students need Chromebooks, a storage cart and management licenses to safely utilize all the technology available to them in learning a foreign language.

Hooray! This project is fully funded
My school generally serves a diverse, low-income population. The students are enthusiastic about coming to school as they find stability there. We work together daily to develop their Spanish-speaking skills through an immersion environment. Many of my students continue their foreign language education through the Advanced Placement program to earn their first college credits. For many of them, they will be the first in their families to extend their education past high school. It is a privilege to work with them every day.
My students need a class set of Chromebooks in order to have access to the abundance of educational benefits available for learning a foreign language through technology. Access to technology in class allows students to engage in fun activities which immerse them in the language through video, interactive games, and authentic resources. These activities will give the students an opportunity for immediate feedback. We need 1 storage/charging cart for organization and safety. In order for the Chromebooks to function on our school network, we also need management licenses for each computer. This allows the school to provide the necessary firewalls and access to appropriate content on the school network. These resources will motivate and engage my students so their learning will not be limited. Having Chromebooks will allow for a variety of activities to engage the students and provide immediate feedback on their skills.
Students love to see immediate results of their work.
Knowledge of their results inspires a competitive nature in them. Having these tools will allow me to show them how to teach themselves and further their own knowledge through fun and engaging activities. Plus, today's students rely heavily on technology in their everyday lives. They want to engage with it.
