Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students are creative, innovative, and problem-solvers! Despite limited resources at home, they come to our classrooms eager to learn. As educators, we inspire our students to believe in themselves and their abilities to become productive members of society. An important goal for us is to optimize our students learning potential in ways that challenge students to think critically and creatively, thereby meeting or exceeding their own expectations. We enjoy using teaching strategies that not only cater to the academic needs of our students, but to the social-emotional needs as well. For us, motivation beyond the classroom is a critical component to our students becoming lifelong learners; thus we continue to promote perseverance in our students in and outside the classroom.
Due to the fact that our classes made up of an array of learners who are anxious to explore uncharted territory, we would like to help them along with their aspirations any way that we can.
In hopes of showing our children that goals are attainable through persevering and believing , we reaffirm that dreams really can come true.
My Project
My students need Orange Juice, Frito Lay Variety Pack and Bottled Water for a beautiful luncheon to help build their self-worth and continue to try their best. As we are approaching our final weeks of school, we challenge our students until the very end to do their best. One way we continuously challenge our students is by utilizing ALEKS, an adaptive math program that provides each student with a personalized learning path. Through the use of ALEKS, our students are achieving their personal and academic goals while closing the learning gaps in mathematics.
To increase our students’ motivation and their learning, class competitions are hosted to acknowledge teamwork and student successes.
During the last few weeks of school, we would like to acknowledge students that have met their personal goals on ALEKS with a school-wide luncheon. Working in a low-income community, our students’ deserve recognition and a special meal for going the extra mile in their studies. By celebrating our students' successes, students will feel valued in their classroom community and strive to do more.
Please consider to donate to our project so that we can continue to motivate our future leaders to always do their best.
