My students enter school with big eyes, eager to learn and ready to get started on being a big kid. They have waited all summer to sing, dance, act, and sing! Their excitement shows in their eyes and attitudes. It is my pursuit to give these amazing kids musical experiences that they would otherwise never have access to.
My students are hard workers, spirited, and self-motivated.
They like to sing, play instruments, and actively move and respond to music. Because of their socioeconomic status, they do not get exposure to experiences many of us see as "typical". Before they enter my classroom I focus my planning on their potential and musical growth using the resources we have.
Kindergartners, first & second graders are learning to be part of a larger social group which can be scary and that is why it is so important to make this next year of public education engaging and fun.
My students need to learn to move quickly from one activity to another in the classroom. They need a variety of choices, and SitSpots will help them identify where to go next.
My Project
A cajon will allow students move to the beat with SitSpots giving them freedom to move in their own personal space! They will be so excited to have a spot that is their own as they take turn playing the cajon for each other! My students already love to move to the beat and now they will have a place where they can land after taking part in large group activities in our music room! My students will love the bright colors of the SitSpots.
I also need egg shakers for my music classroom, as they are small and easy for tiny hands to use.
They help us keep the steady beat, and they can also spice up the music to make it groove better.
With a cajon, SitSpots and egg shakers, our classroom we'll be ready to sing, dance, act and move - thanks to you!!
