Help me give my students incentives that will motivate them to work to earn each week. These display and suggestion boxes will be used to display items students may work for along with submitting their earned incentive coupons.
Four hundred and five students call our school home! Our students come eager and ready to learn each day. We are a Title I School in that a large percentage of our students come from low-income households. Nearly 60% of our students have free or reduced lunch. As a faculty and staff, we work hard to motivate all of our students both academically and socially while creating a culture of high expectations and support. Our school-wide expectations are called SPOTS; S- safety first, P-positive attitude, O-Ownership, T- teamwork, S-show respect! Spots are perfectly fitting for students to learn as they are the mighty LEOPARDS! Students earn SPOTS weekly by meeting and exceeding our school-wide behavioral expectations. Students earn incentives for earning their SPOT that week.
Our school's PBIS objective is to increase positive behavior at our school in order to provide a safer and more effective environment where students can achieve success both socially and academically.
An effective Positive Behavior Interventions and Support program is one of the many contributors to creating a positive school culture and atmosphere for our students.
My Project
These display boxes will be used to further emphasize the current Positive Behavior Intervention and Support system we have in place. Students earn incentive coupons by meeting and exceeding school-wide expectations at school. From weekly incentives earned in the classroom to earning a "Loving Leopard" special recognition, students will be able to have the option to use the coupon as marked or instead deposit their coupons/incentives for chances to win the prizes displayed. The clear suggestion boxes will also proudly display coupons earned by other students in the school.
These materials will allow us to emphasize and acknowledge students who are meeting and exceeding expectations.
