This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a Title I school that receives 100% free breakfast and lunches. My students come from all walks of life. They are eager to learn, have different learning abilities, and show courage every day to try something new. They each have a partner they turn to teach to every day. They love sharing with their partner about their good things, what they've just learned, and collaborating about the math problem of the day. My students love learning with each other!

My Project

My students will each have a comfortable to spot to sit on the carpet during morning meeting, whole group math, whole group reading and center time. My students need to space to make a full body turn when they teach or collaborate with their partner. Having the carpet will allow my students to do so and not be cramped which can make learning unpleasant and can cause problems at times. Also, the carpet will allow room for my students to possibly lay down on their tummies to read a book and stretch out. This carpet is the perfect solution to having the most fun during morning meeting, whole group and center time!
